Shokola is fairly new to Lab Rescue, but following is what we know about her so far.
It has only been two more days and we have found out a few more things about Shokola. She knows some commands - sit, down, stay, off, wait. She walks pretty well on a leash, not much pulling or weaving, and we have walked about a mile and a half at a time. We met more children on our walks and did well with ones from age 5 to 12, still don't know about toddlers. Or cats. She has plenty of energy and likes to play ball - she will return it and give it to you to throw again.
Shokola has had no accidents in the house, so it appears that she is totally house trained. She needs a little reminder to take treats gently.
Shokola just arrived at our house yesterday afternoon. This sweet gentle girl road nicely in the car. Then slept quietly in a crate all night and has gone in there to nap a few times already today. If not in the crate, she tends to be close to me, but not totally Velcro. She ate well, and she has done her “potty” outside, so we are hoping she is totally house trained. She met a whole pack of larger dogs, and one small one, yesterday and has gotten along just fine with them all. She previously lived with a male Lab. The person who transported her, had a young grandson along as an assistant, and Shokola really liked him, so it appears that she is good with children, but not sure about toddlers. No exposure to cats yet, so no info there.
